spending times with my family

I like spending times with my family every weekend, because all of us are busy during the week days. Most of us working in the day time, and after work, we usually eat dinner, and then sleep. So we don’t talk that much often during these days, so when it’s weekend, we usually spend a lot of times together and talk about what happened on the previous week. Spending time with family is really nice since they are the closest person to you. Family will always support you whenever bad things happens. I don’t like when family fight, or argue, because it hurts all of us deep inside our heart. I like to see family smile and having a wonderful time.

I like the season because...

I like it spring season because it’s not too hot or not too cold. I don’t like winter because I don’t like cold, raining weather. Spring is a nice season because the flowers are blooming, cool wind, and great weather. In Spring, there isn’t much rain going on, so me and my family usually goes outdoor to travel and enjoy the outside instead staying in the city all day long. I love outdoors, so every weekend during spring, I always takes my family and dog out to walk, and it actually feels really nice. Also I will not sweat too much like summer, don’t need to wear so much cloths when going outside.

My favorite animal is...

My favorite animal is Dog. Dogs are lovely and really cute. I like to hug them every time I gets homes. They also know when I am almost home, they would sit by the door and waits for me to come home. Having a dog by my side is just like having another friends. I can play with the dog all the time, especially when I am sad. Dog doesn’t care if you are rich or not, as long as you care for them, they will love you back. Just wish that they won’t destroy too many things in your house and give you an innocent looking, because dog can not understand what they just did.

My favorite movie is...

My favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast. The story has a very good point that even though the beast was hideous and scary, but the princess still finds the heart to love him regardless of his appearance. This reminds me of that we shouldn’t not judge on people’s appearance rather than we should inner beauty. I believe that not all people are bad, sometimes, you just have to spend time to really gets to know the other person. Always have a kind heart when treating others, if you treat them nice, they will treat you nice. I love the movies because the story really teach me something.

A list of things I’ll never do

I am too afraid of height, so I would never goes on a roller coaster ride. I gets very worry and I do not like that feeling. I would never eat seafood, because I have an allergy that every times I eat seafood, my skin will get itchy. I would never drive fast on the road, because in Taiwan, the streets are small, and a lot of car and motorcycle are near me. Driving fast will have a higher chance of getting accident. I would never want to watch scary movies, because I am very afraid of the ghost, and sometimes, I can not sleep at night after watching a scary movie.

If I were...

If I were a teacher, I would give more freedom to student to express their mind and knowledge and also ensure every student can have a fun learning experience. Education is a very important part of everyone’s life. The more hard work you put in, the better life you will have in the future. I would also give less homework to student as I have experience home works can put a lot of pressure on student. I would ask them what would be a better way for them to learn easy and fast. So learning with me will not be boring, and it will make students want to come to my class and also have fun at the same time.

Visiting United State

We always plan ahead before going to travel United State. It is a good idea to know where you want to visit. For example, we can visit San Diego, Hollywood and Disneyland. Than we should be learn their language and culture to know the way of living. For instance, English is their main language in United State, and most stores close at 10 PM. After that, we also to be understand their food. There are several America Food and fast-food that is different with us. Finally, the public transportation is not popular in there. People usually drive to any places. These example show that it’s always better to study about United State before you go there, you will not be lost.

My New Year's Resolutions Are…

There are several resolutions that I want to do. First, I am planning to backpack travel in Japan with my friends this winter. That is first time I go there. Maybe Japan is not my favorite country that I want to go abroad. I don’t like this trip because it is no one could speak Japanese in our group; I think it is so dangerous, and it will let me fell scare in strange place, but both my friends choose there. I think my first important New Year resolutions maybe become “I wish I will come back safely.”

Second, I hope I can spend more time with my parents. Since I graduate from high school and get job quickly and luckily, I have no more time to keep with my family, because my job must working in every night. That let me lose a lot of time to get together with them. Moreover, when I begin to study in every weekend, I can feel time is not enough more. I really hope I can have more time with them, but I know it will be come true after 2 years.

The car is not too big, not too pricy. TOYATA car is very fuel efficient, and long lasting. A lot of color you can choose.

3. Do you think this ad is effective? Why or why not?
Yes, because the low price, gas saving. A lot of driver would want a car that saves gas. Also long lasting, so it will not break down easily. Also the colors attract the attentions of young people.

MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER
1. Who is the target audience?
Their target audience is families with children or pet. Family who loves outdoor activity and travel.

2. What technique does the advertiser use to sell the product?
They are emphasize one touch seat folding system, that allows the back seats folds automatically by a simple touch and more space in the back for things.

3. Do you think this ad is effective? Why or why not?
Yes, I think that is effective, because even a god knows how o use it.

Comparison

1. The TOYOTA car is more design for a single person, not much of a Family Car, because the car is not that big. The TOYOTA is less expensive than the MITSUBISHI. MITSUBISHI is more for family who loves outdoor, and spacious in the car.

2. The price is a big difference. TOYOTA cost about $450,000 and MITSUBISHI cost around $800,000. Although the MITSUBISHI has the one-touch folding chair, but most people would consider price is a big concern when buying the car. TOYOTA ad would attract the attention of more young people, Because of the large car not too popular to young people because too costly to own and maintain.

3. Although MITSUBISHI car's advertisement is more convincing with the picture of the dog and family. But I believe people would still choose Toyota, because according to online information, more people buy TOYOTA than MITSUBISHI. Unless the buyer loves to travel, then Mitsubishi would be a better choice for them. But for a typical person who wants to drive, TOYOTA would be a better choice.

A Person Who Has Made a Difference

Liu Ming Chuan was born in Hefei, Anhui Province, China in Sep 7, 1836
He was born in a poor family. His father died when he was 11 years old, mother died when he was 20 years old. His mother killed herself because he was a robber and her mother was related to him and the crime he committed.
He moved to Taiwan in 1884, and fought against French Army and keep an eye on rebuilding Taiwan.
In 1864, he builds army in Taiwan. And he build railroad, Ministry of Communication, Ministry of Coal and Mining, and Ministry of Railroad. The first railroad was build from Kee-Lung to Taipei City in 1891, and the first electric cable from Taiwan to Fu-Jian.
In honor of his contribution, we build “Ming-Chuan University” in Taipei and “Ming-Chuan Road” in Kee-Lung.
He died in 1896 at his birthplace due to sickness.

Tell me about your family

I am living with my mom and dad right now. I have an older brother living in china. My dad works in elementary as a security guard, my mom is a wife, and she takes cares of the families at home. We all lived in young-he, not too far away from where I worked, I worked at a school as the office staff. My mom loves cooking, and my dad loves travel.

How would you make this world a better place to live in?

If there is no war, the world would be a better place to live. People always died when a war is occurring, this would cost government a lot of tax money, and most importantly, it break out families, It is really sad to see a father/son goes to the war and never comes back, Also violence is a big issue in the society now, the less violence there, is, the more safe neighborhood for the citizens. Violence also brings a lot of crime in the city, so if there is no violence, crime, war, the life would be a lot better.

You have an extra $1,000,000 to give away; you cannot spend it on yourself. What would you do with the money?

If I have extra 1,000,000 dollars, I would give away to charity. There are lot of people and families who needs help on their living, such families who couldn’t accord buying food or unable to take care of themselves. I would distribute the money to the families who needs help so they can live longer and happier. Also save some money for my family and buy the stuff we need and donate the rest of them out to charity because I love help people who needs help. Helping them is also doing good deed.

You could go anywhere in the world. Where would it be, what would you do, and why?

If I could go to anywhere in the world, I would want to go to Los Angeles. My friend told me there is a lot of fun thing you could do there. The places I wanted visit are Disneyland, Universal Studio, San Deiego, Holly wood. I have never been to any of these places and I want to go so badly. Also try out authentic American food, such as steak, fried chicken, because my friend told me its better than Taiwan.

What would you do if you were the President?

If I was the president, I would make everyone earn the same salary, eliminate the social difference between the rich and poor. I do not like to see people poor, especially the elders. Because elder do not have a great health to work, they should have the same amount of money as we do so they can spend. So there will be no poor I the future, all people are equally earned. This would also boost the consumer to buy and bring the economy to positive way.

What would you do if you were Principal for a day?

If I was the principle for a day, I would takes each students to a field trip for free. Because student spends a lot of time and efforts studying. So, this give them the opportunities to relax and worry about nothing for a whole day. This is a great way to reward students for their hard works, so they can have more energy tomorrow to continue their study. Sometimes, going outdoor is a great way to relax.

Sometimes I wish that...

Sometimes, I wish I can go travel around the world without worry about money problem. Personally, I loved travel to different Countries and visit different places. Because each countries has their own uniqueness and famous buildings or food. If I saved up enough money in the future, I would want to visit Europe first because I never been there before, and I want to see if the place really like in the romantic movie, with rivers, and castles. I would also take my whole families too to travel with me. Since all of them likes to travel too.

Bella was hurt, greatly hemorrhaged, and bit by James.
Bella would die at any time, but finally be saved because of Edward’s love.

Introducing Myself

My name is Julia. I lived in Yong-He City in Taipei.
I have 5 members in my family; they are my father, mother, older brother and my dog.
My father works at an elementary school in Yong-He, my mother is a housewife, my older brother is a software engineer and my dog is very cute pet, she does nothing all day.
I am currently working at a vocational high school as an office staff. I plan and organize class schedule for all the teachers and students. I also plan the midterm examination and the final examination. When I am not at school or at my work, I usually stay at home and listening music or reading books. Sometimes I enjoy going the outdoor and breathe the fresh air.

Destination

English for Tourism's topic – destination

I will be introducing the city of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles is located few thousand miles east of Taiwan, the only transportation to go there is by airplane, and flight is usually 12~15 hour.
In Los Angeles, the weather in summer is hotter and in winter is colder than Taiwan.
There are few famous attractions, such as Disneyland, Universal Studio, Hollywood and Getty Museum.
Universal Studio is a fun place to go, because it as many entertainment facilities that are related to famous movies.
On the other hand, the best time to go there is at the end of the year. Because there are some important holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is on the last Thursday in November. Relatives are gathered around to have a family dinner. Therefore, this is the best time to visit Los Angeles.
